Henrique Constância (1997) is a young cellist born in Azores Islands (Portugal). He started is musical studies in Ponta Delgada, his birth town. In Lisbon, he achieved his Bachelor's degree at the Superior Orchestra Nacional Academy (Metropolitana) where he studied cello with Paulo Gaio Lima. As of orchestral experience, he has played in several orchestras such as the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Junge Deutsch-französische Philharmonie, Portuguese Youth Orchestra and many others. He has worked with conductors like Enrico Onofri, Semyon Bychkov, Pascal Verrot, Evegn Bushkov and Jean-Marc Burfin.


He has performed as a soloist with the Orquestra Clássica do Centro, Banda Militar do Exército, Orquestra Quadrivium and with Sionfoneta de Ponta Delgada, and he is frequently invited to perform chamber music with several groups.


He is currently continuing his cello studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA), under the tuition of Gideon den Herder. Henrique plays on modern cello built in England by Pierre Picard.
